10 years for 1 gram?.

So, this reggae musician who was caught with about a gram or so of cannabis and got sentenced to 10 years in prison.

‎10 years, huh.
Let’s take a tally of crime and punishment, shall we.

200 Rf fine for physically abusing a child.
500 Rf fine for eating during Ramadan.
666 Rf fine for Porn possession.
Stabbed someone?. Go free.
Murdered someone?. Get acquitted.
Break into a house and rape a minor? Go free.
Imported tons of hard drugs? Go free.
Steal millions of state funds?. Never get prosecuted.
Get caught with about than a gram of cannabis, but can’t pay the judges off?. 10 years in prison.

Guess the country all this happened?. Is it Soviet Russia? Is it the Jewnited States of Americunta? Is it Christfag capital Vatican?. Nope - the answer is a tiny country trying to be as puritanical as the evil OPEC Final Boss Saudi Arabia... Give it up for the so-called 100% muslim MALDIVES!.

And when free-thinking people start pointing out the obvious flaws with that bullshit sentence, they get accused of being drug addicts by the so-called good muslim citizens. Much like the fact that if you care for the well-being of a mentally subpar person, you're automatically labeled as a "mentally unstable" person.

It gets even more hilarious from this point. According to them, drug addicts are more likely to commit crimes such as rape, robbery, etc. and that's why Mr. Haisham got such a huge sentence on him - apparently, god sent an SMS to the judiciary speaking of the future like this. That's how sure they are of their bullshit. They even tried to equate him with a rapist or a robber, too.

I quote Mr. Jilwaz.
"I’m asking the question if a drug addict storms into your home robs your valuables, rapes your mother will you still be demonstrating for his freedom on the streets just because he is famous???"
To his question, I replied.
"Mr. Jilwaz; you pose a very good question indeed – or at least it would be if Mr Haisham had actually raped someone, or broke into houses and robbed someone.

Unfortunately for you, Haisham was only convicted of possessing and using cannabis, which is considered less harmful than the cigarette – and thus your whole point is moot.

Nice try trying to label Haisham as a robber and rapist, and his supporters as drug addicts, though."

The whole story just keeps on getting better and better. I also ACCIDENTALLY dropped this story on the international uplink and pretty soon, we were getting boycotts left right and centre. It was an accident, really. I didn't profit from it at all.

And while we're at it... is cannabis even addictive?. And why is it being so biasedly ruled against when cigarettes are far more dangerous?. Shoud'nt they ban cigarettes first? (We know how badly that went.) Heck, it's even supposed to be lower on the dependancy scale than GODDAMN CAFFEINE. That's right. COFFEE is more potent than that stuff on the addiction scale. Shoudl they ban coffee too?. (Hot damn, where will those kids be without this stuff. No more koffeeakah jassaalan.)

I've left the best for last. While those so-called muslim hypocrites go on and on about drugs and their bullshit about "no one above the law", little do they know that even their prophet approved of the green happystuff. If they sentence Haisham for 10 years in prison, they also have to sentence prophet mohammed for 10 years in prison as well. Why?.

Abu Dawood. Book 41, Number 5022:
Narrated Tikhfat al-Ghifari:
Ya'ish ibn Tikhfat al-Ghifari said: My father was one of the people in the Suffah.
The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) said: Come with us to the house of Aisha. So we went and he said: Give us food, Aisha. She brought hashishah and we ate."

Not only he took weed, he also had it with his underage wife.

What is hasish?. A product of cannabis.

So, will they arrest their prophet?. Or is HE above the law?. :P

>Haisham’s sentences, for being found with less than a gram of cannabis and for its use, is nine years and six months longer than what is proposed in the new Amendment Bill.

Please send an email to the President of the Maldives and ask for a review of Haisham's sentence. Details on this link.Thank you.

You know what bothers me, Shadowrunner?

The fact that "Maldivians" go to great lengths to insult and try to bring down people who bring the serious issues within the law of Maldives to light.

Don't listen to those "gaddaveganna" people. Ignore their pathetic insults and their challenges for you to reveal your name. They just want to silence you from writing things like this.

Keep up the good work, Shadowrunner - keep fighting the good fight. Don't give up even if things look bad. Maldives may be a shithole that's going to die of neglect and changing global climates, but it's our shithole.

Thank you very much, for fighting for our rights. If more people like you were there, this world would be a better place.

- A Maldivian.
